Tencel™ Lyocell is created from wood pulp sourced from sustainably managed forests and is among the strongest cellulose fibers. It’s made with renewable energy using a closed loop process that enables 99% of the organic solvents to be reused, using less energy and water. It’s also 100% biodegradable and is considered one of the most eco-friendly fibers in the world!
Tencel is soft, strong, and breathable, with a lovely drape and sheen. It’s absolutely gorgeous and works beautifully mixed with wool in wet felting. Also appropriate for needle felting, spinning, and blending in art batts.
Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certified for non-toxicity.
*Please keep in mind that colors may vary, depending on your monitor or mobile device. I do my best to represent colors as accurately as possible by using color calibration software. Even so, there still could be a variation.
TIP: Tencel will not wet felt on its own, but does incorporate well into wet felted projects. I recommend going slowly and using room temperature water in the beginning. If your water is too warm, the wool will felt too fast and not have enough time to grab onto the Tencel fibers. Treat it just as you would fabric in nuno felting.
